Sadie Kaye
Sadie Kaye is a Hong Kong TV & radio presenter, filmmaker, writer and actress. She's a presenter on RTHK.[1]
Career
Raised in Sai Kung, Hong Kong,[2] Kaye started in television presenting children's series Beezwacks on TVB.[3][4] After attending Murray Edwards College, Cambridge,[5] she lived in London and presented Eat Your Words on ITV.[6] She created [7] and presented [6] ETV comedy series Dinner Party[8] and appeared as an actress in sketch shows, including Sack the Writer.[9] She helped judge Channel 4 competition Comedy Circuit [10] and appeared in Channel 4 series The New Entrepreneurs.[11] In 2006 she was a partner in indie Blue Reef.[12]
She produced and presented a series of 3 Minute Wonders for Channel 4 about the 2009 Centre for Social Justice Awards[13] and documentary films Sailing Miss Sadie (2010)[14][15] and Tucker's Luck (2011) [16][17][18] for Sky. In both films she mentors young offenders from The Prince's Trust.[19][20][21]
She appeared as an actress in western film West of Thunder (2012) [22][23][24][25][26] and comedy FLIM the Movie (2014).[27][28] In 2020 she co-produced Transference: A Bipolar Love Story with the producers of Flim.[29]
Kaye returned to Hong Kong in 2014. Having piloted the character on Funny or Die,[30][31] she began presenting comic slots as 'Miss Adventure' on RTHK Radio 3.[32][33][34] She's produced and presented two documentaries for RTHK, Bipolar Express[35][36] and As Bad As It Gets.[37][38] Bipolar Express was Highly Commended in the Radio Creative Feature category by the Association for International Broadcasting in 2015.[39][40][41] As Bad As It Gets, about OCD, aired in 2019.[42] Since 2020 she's presented Mental Ideas, a weekly strand of RTHK Radio 3's 123 Show.[43][44][45] She'd previously appeared on the show as a guest.[46][47][48]
Charity
She set up and runs nonprofit groups Bipolar Hong Kong[52][53] and Mental Ideas.[54][55]
