History

The oldest records of the church (and parish) in Vik dates back to 1432. The first church was likely a rectangular timber-framed building. The second church building was a log church in a cruciform design. The present church is likely the third church building in Vik. In 1873, it was decided to build a new, larger church to replace the older (2nd) church building. A new plot of land about 200 metres (660 ft) south of the old church site was purchased from Einar Ingebrigtsen Vik. About two years later, the new church was completed.[4] After the new church was completed the old building was torn down and its materials were auctioned off. The old cemetery (surrounding the old church) was used until 1980 when a new cemetery was opened.[5]

gollark: It's likely that my code is just setting up the socket wrong somehow, since I mostly just used the multicast-looking things in the docs and rearranged the calls until it stopped saying stupid things like "OS error 22".

gollark: `ip neigh show`, right?
gollark: It says it wants a "prefix", which I assume means `ff00::/8` and stuff, but it also says nothing about that.
gollark: No idea. `ip r list ff02::aeae` doesn't say anything at all about it, but that is also the case for some *working* addresses on the LAN.
