The russet-crowned crake (Rufirallus viridis) is a species of bird in the family Rallidae.[2]

It is found in the northern part of South America (in particular the eastern Amazon, the Guyana Shield and the Atlantic Forest). Its natural habitats are dry savanna, subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland, and pastureland.
