Roundstone (band)

Roundstone is an English rock band from London. The band was formed in 2006 as Babygrand and consists of Dominic Scott (vocals, guitar), Alistair Watson (keyboard), Andrew Morgan (bass guitar) and Benjamin Salmon (drums). They later renamed the band after Roundstone, an Irish village in Connemara, County Galway, because of their fondness for the west of Ireland.

Forming the band

Scott took a break from music after leaving the band Keane in 2001 to do an MSc in economics from the London School of Economics. Whilst staying at Goodenough College, he composed and arranged rock songs with his friend and a classical composer Morgan. They were joined by Watson, a concert pianist and later by Salmon to form the band Babygrand. The first concert was in May 2006 at the Electroacoustic Club in London with an additional string quartet, but the line-up soon developed into a more standard rock form.

Live performances

The original line-up had Watson on bass guitar and Morgan on keyboard but this was changed to the current set-up in June 2007. Roundstone has mostly performed on the London circuit including at the Dublin Castle and the Bar Fly in Camden, the Betsey Trotwood pub and Hoxton Bar and Kitchen.

gollark: I'm glad the staff team has realized the supremacy of Rust over all other languages.
gollark: I think it would make more sense and be less complex if users actually had to send transactions to transfer money, instead of just letting things make them for them and hoping the things can be trusted.
gollark: That also seems bad.
gollark: Oh, and is there a reason for the system where to pay for things online with a credit card, you have to provide information which allows whoever you give it to to make arbitrary transactions (as long as nobody flags it as fraud or something?).
