Roman Catholic Diocese of Guardialfiera

The Diocese of Guardialfiera (Latin Dioecesis Guardiensis Alpheriae) or Diocese of Guardia was a Roman Catholic diocese in Italy, located in the city of Guardialfiera in the Province of Campobasso in the Italian region Molise. In 1818, it was suppressed to the Diocese of Termoli.[1][2]

History

  • 1059: Established as Diocese of Guardialfiera[2] (Guardiensis Alpheriae)[1]
  • 1818 June 27: Suppressed to the Diocese of Termoli[2]
  • 1968: Restored as Titular Episcopal See of Guardialfiera [2]
