Mixed martial arts career

Early career

Peralta made his professional MMA debut in March 2007. He lost his debut by submission, but quickly amassed a record of 13 wins and 3 losses over the next few years. A majority of his fights have been in the California-based independent promotion Gladiator Challenge.

Strikeforce

In April 2011, Peralta made his Strikeforce debut by upsetting current DREAM featherweight champion Hiroyuki Takaya at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley via split decision.

Ultimate Fighting Championship

In early September 2011, Peralta signed with the UFC to replace Mackens Semerzier against Mike Lullo at UFC Fight Night: Shields vs. Ellenberger.[4] He won the fight via unanimous decision.

Peralta defeated Mackens Semerzier on November 12, 2011 at UFC on Fox 1.[5] It was officially recorded as a TKO victory for Peralta though replays later showed that an accidental headbutt dropped Semerzier and allowed Peralta to flurry and earn the stoppage. The fight was later ruled a no contest by the California State Athletic Commission.[6]

Peralta was linked to a bout with Charles Oliveira on January 20, 2012 at UFC on FX 1.[7] However, UFC officials scrapped the bout.

A rematch with Semerzier was expected to take place on March 3, 2012 at UFC on FX 2.[8] However, Peralta was forced out of the bout with a toe injury and replaced by Daniel Pineda.[9]

Peralta fought Jason Young on September 29, 2012 at UFC on Fuel TV 5.[10] Peralta won the fight via KO 23 seconds into the first round.

A bout with Akira Corassani, previously linked to UFC 156,[11] was moved April 6, 2013 at UFC on Fuel TV 9, after an illness sidelined Corassani for a time.[12] Peralta lost to Corassani via decision after three rounds. Peralta was suspended for six months after the fight for failing the post fight drug test and testing positive for marijuana.[13]

Peralta faced Estevan Payan on December 28, 2013 at UFC 168.[14] After a back-and-forth first two rounds, Peralta won via knockout early into the third round.

Peralta faced Rony Jason on May 31, 2014 at The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 3 Finale.[15] He won the back-and-forth fight via split decision.

Peralta faced Thiago Tavares on August 16, 2014 at UFC Fight Night 47.[16] He lost the fight via submission in the first round.

Peralta faced Clay Guida on April 4, 2015 at UFC Fight Night 63.[17] He lost the fight by unanimous decision and was subsequently released from the promotion.[18]

gollark: The ones for drones are just blatantly wrong.
gollark: OC's docs *are* quite poor.
gollark: I'm using `warp`, which has nice HTTP combinatory things which are also glacially slow to compile, `sqlx`, which type-checks SQL queries at compile time but is also probably quite slow, and `horrorshow`, a compile-time HTML templating library.
gollark: Well, I use a lot of compile-time stuff like macros, and rustc is not very fast.
gollark: It's a small project currently.
