Riverdale, New Zealand
Riverdale is a suburb of Gisborne, in the Gisborne District of New Zealand's North Island.[1] It has a population of about 2100 people.[2]
Education
Lytton High School is a Year 9–13 co-educational public high school.[3][4] In 2019, it was a decile 2 school with a roll of 661.[5] The school includes Te Whare Whai Hua Teenage Parent Centre, a co-educational public school for teenage parents.[6][7]
Riverdale School is a year 1–6 co-educational public primary school.[8][9] The school was established in 1958.[10] In 2019, it was a decile 1 school with a roll of 172.[11] The school has hosted a regional chess tournament since 2006.[12][13]
Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Nga Uri A Maui is a Year 1–15 co-educational Māori immersion school.[14] In 2019, it was a decile 1 school with a roll of 216.[15]
Sonrise Christian School is a Year 1–10 co-educational state integrated school.[16] In 2019, it was a decile 4 school with a roll of 77.[17][18]
The Eastern Institute of Technology has a rural campus in Riverdale.[19] It is used for EIT courses and community-run horticulture and gardening classes.[20]
