Recorded as Jerry Landis

Recorded as Jerry Landis is a compilation album of demo recordings sung by Paul Simon, with one exception. Only one of them was written by Simon, if "Loneliness" is the song of that title released on MGM 12822 (probably August 1959) by Jerry Landis, Paul Simon's stage name. "I'd Like to Be (The Lipstick on Your Lips)" was the B side of Warwick M 588 (probably October 1960) by Jerry Landis, but it is credited on the label as written by David-Edwards, the Brill Building team of Hal David and Sherman Edwards. The exception not sung by Paul Simon is "Beat Love", which was written and recorded by Art Garfunkel under the name Artie Garr and released on Warwick M 515 (probably October 1959). Simon and Garfunkel were working separately in 1959 and 1960, so the only common thread is the Warwick label, suggesting that the source of this collection is a tape archive from Warwick.
