He has won international heavyweight bouts over Stefan Leko, Mighty Mo, Paul Slowinski, Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Dževad Poturak and Brice Guidon.

Thom Harinck described him as "perhaps the hardest white hitter in heavyweight history".[2]

He was set to make his kickboxing return in June 2020 after 4-year hiatus at GFC 7, but the event was postponed due to health and safety concerns brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.[3][4]

Training

Cătinaș has trained with a number of groups in a large variety of gyms throughout his fighting career. In 2012, after starting off with Mike's Gym, he began training with Jérôme Le Banner, Hesdy Gerges and other kickboxers at Thom Harinck's Chakuriki Gym in Amsterdam, Netherlands.[5]

He often trained at Allstars Training Center in Stockholm, alongside MMA fighter Alexander Gustafsson. He was a member of the team that helped Gustafsson train for his fight against Daniel Cormier at UFC 192.[6]

Between 2013 and 2016, he trained with Benjamin Adegbuyi, Andrei Stoica and Bogdan Stoica at Alin Panaite's Respect Gym in Bucharest, Romania.[7]
