Randall's snapper

Randall's snapper, Randallichthys filamentosus, is a species of snapper native to the eastern Indian Ocean from northwestern Australia to the central Pacific Ocean around Hawaii. Known from only a few locations in that range, it is probably much more widespread. It prefers areas with rocky substrates at depths from 150 to 300 m (490 to 980 ft). This species grows to 50 cm (20 in) in total length. It is of minor importance to local commercial fisheries. This species is the only known member of its genus.[1]
