Raia, Goa
Raia (Rai) is a village and part of the Margao metropolitan area in the South Goa district in the state of Goa, India close to the city of Margao. Raikar's of Daivadnya Brahmin(sonar) community were originally from Raia, Goa and hence the name Raikar.

Raia village is close to Lotulim, Ambora, Rachol, Maina village. Raia hosts a Harvest feast Konsache fest which is celebrated on 5 August every year. The feast mass is celebrated at Our Lady of Snows Church, Raia.
Raia village comes under the Curtorim constituency.
It was the first village in Salcette to have been Christianised, when its populace was converted en masse to Christianity in 1560.[1]
