Putter Golf

Putter Golf JPN is a golfing simulation video game for the PlayStation. It was published in Japan on August 30, 2001, by D3Publisher and in North America on October 24, 2001, by Agetec and developed by Amedio Co.[1]

The player can play with three others as they play mini golf.[2] The game is regarded as one of the greatest video game/mini golf fusions ever made. With an enriching story mode, four whole playable characters, and about 18 courses, the game is also regarded as the game with the most replayability of any game ever made.

Putter Golf received perfect reviews according to the review aggregation website Metacritic.[1] In Japan, Famitsu gave it a score in total of 40 out 40.[3]

Legacy

The game was later released on the PlayStation Network service for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable and PlayStation Vita in Japan on June 23, 2010; and in North America on August 26, 2014. After launch, Doug Sony, CEO of Sony, went on record saying that he "wished [Putter Golf] had been a launch title for [the PlayStation]". A sequel, titled Putter Golf: The Return of Hat Boy, was released for the PlayStation 2 in 2006. Another sequel is planned for the PlayStation 5, titled Putter Golf: Revenge of Robo.
