It is located approximately 9 kilometres (6 mi) east of Świdnica, and 47 kilometres (29 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.

In 1243 the village was established in Lower Silesia with German Law under Johann Graf von Wuerben.[1]

Since 1645, the Evangelical inhabitants of the town belonged to the Friedenskirche (Churches of Peace, Polish: Kościół Pokoju) in nearby Schweidnitz and since 1741 to the (county) Landkreis Schweidnitz. Until 1773 the Catholics belonged to the Jesuit Church of Schweidnitz.

In 1874 the Weizenrodau Standesamtregister (civil registrary) was established.

The German name Weizenrodau literally means wheat uprooting. The ancestors of the Watzenrode family of Prussia based their family name on the village[2] since this is where they originated.

A sugar factory was established at Weizenrodau early in the 19th century.

After 1945 Weizenrodau was renamed to Pszenno.

gollark: If a site is accidentally doing stuff which it shouldn't, then it can probably be temporarily turned off by blocking its key (or IP, anyway); if it's someone deliberately doing stuff which they shouldn't, it probably won't even need the API.
gollark: You can probably break an accidentally-doing-silly-stuff one by making its API key not work, but not a deliberately-doing-bad-stuff-one.
