Powell Point, Texas

Powell Point is an Unincorporated community in Fort Bend County, Texas, United States.[1]

Powell Point Elementary School

The area is named after Elizabeth Powell, who received the original land grant there from the Mexican Government in 1831.

Education

Powell Point is served by the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD). Students are zoned to Beasley Elementary School in Beasley, Wessendorff Middle School, Lamar Junior High School, and Lamar Consolidated High School.[2]

Previously, Kendleton Independent School District (KISD) operated Powell Point Elementary School in the community and served elementary school residents. Beginning in 1985 LCISD served secondary school students in the KISD territory.[3] As a result of the 2010 KISD closure, students at Powell Point were rezoned to Beasley and Wessendorf. LCISD, for a two-year period, will operate its Head Start program at Powell Point.[4]

gollark: Move it to just after the %?
gollark: Yes, 1.1 isn't part of the formatting code so it just prints the float then that.
gollark: Writing a bare metal microkernel in Haskell is not very practical.
gollark: > I never tried it. It's nice that it has these safety features but I prefer C++ still. > If I want to be sure that my program is free of bugs, I can write a formal specification and do a > correctness proof with the hoare calculus in some theorem proofer (People did that for the seL4 microkernel, which is free from bugs under some assumptions and used in satellites, nuclear power plants and such)Didn't doing that for seL4 require several hundred thousand lines of proof code?
gollark: Most countries have insanely convoluted tax law so I assume it's possible.
