Poutini Peak
Poutini Peak (78°9′S 163°10′E) is a mountain in the Royal Society Range, Victoria Land, Antarctica. It rises to 2,062 m (6,765 ft) high, and sits at the south side of Bowden Glacier. It stands 1 nmi (1.9 km) west of Murihau Peak on the west-east ridge marking the head of Blue Glacier. It was named by the New Zealand Geographic Board (NZGB) in 1994. In Māori mythology, Poutini is the guardian taniwha (or spirit) of the essence of New Zealand pounamu (greenstone).
