Porąbka, Silesian Voivodeship
Porąbka pronounced [pɔˈrɔmpka] (German: Porombka) is a village in Bielsko County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland. It is the seat of the gmina (administrative district) called Gmina Porąbka.[1] It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) east of Bielsko-Biała and 53 km (33 mi) south of the regional capital Katowice. The settlement originates from early 15th century, first mentioned in 1445 as part of the Duchy of Oświęcim.[2]
