Scott Yanow of Allmusic states, "This live LP (which has not yet been reissued on CD) mostly features Hampton Hawes on electric piano... Although well-played, little memorable occurs, and Hawes never did sound as distinctive on keyboards as he did on acoustic piano". According to Scott Yanow: Hampton Hawes plays the electric piano like no ones business when it really comes down to it. [2]
