Philip Holiday
Phillip James Holiday (born 23 May 1970 in Benoni, South Africa) is a former professional world boxing champion[1] in the lightweight division who also competed as a welterweight and a junior middleweight later in his career. Holiday turned pro in 1991 and captured the Vacant IBF Lightweight Title in 1995 with a win over Miguel Julio. In his prime, Holiday was regarded as an undersized lightweight, however he defended his title six times, including a notable knockout victory over three divisional world champion Jeff Fenech[2], before eventually losing by decision in a hard fought battle against an undefeated "Sugar" Shane Mosley, who was rated at the time as the best pound for pound boxer in the world[3]. In 2010, at age 40, Holiday made a comeback to the ring and won the Australian Junior Middleweight Title.
