Peter J. Uglietto

Peter John Uglietto, (September 24, 1951) is an American prelate of the Roman Catholic Church serving as an Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Boston and Vicar General of the Curia of Boston.[1]

Biography

Peter J. Uglietto was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and attended the Boston Archdiocesan Choir School and Boston College High School before attending Boston College. He then attended Saint John's Seminary (Massachusetts) in Brighton, Massachusetts, receiving a Master of Divinity degree in 1977. He was ordained to the priesthood by Humberto Cardinal Medeiros on May 21, 1977 at Boston's Cathedral of the Holy Cross. Following several years in parish and campus ministry, then-Father Uglietto earned a License in Sacred Theology under the direction of the Reverend Benedict Ashley, O.P. from the Pontifical Lateran University, Rome at the Washington, D.C. campus of John Paul II Institute for Studies in Marriage and Family. He later earned a Doctorate in Sacred Theology under the direction of Professor William E. May, Ph.D. from the same institution.[2]

Auxiliary Bishop of Boston

Uglietto was appointed by Pope Benedict XVI as Titular Bishop of Thubursicum and Auxiliary Bishop of Boston on June 30, 2010 by Benedict XVI. Peter J. Uglietto was consecrated Bishop on September 14, 2010.[3]
