Percy Summers
Percy Summers was an English professional football goalkeeper who played in the Football League for Grimsby Town.[1] He notably made over 130 Midland League appearances for Chesterfield Town.[3]

Personal life
Prior to becoming a professional footballer, Summers worked as a mechanic in a coal mine near Rhondda.[4] Summers served as a private with the 17th (Service) Battalion of the Duke of Cambridge's Own (Middlesex Regiment) during the First World War.[5] In 1916, he received hand and stomach wounds during the Battle of the Somme and was medically discharged from the army.[4]
