The son of a Black British father and a Spanish mother, Richards was taken by his mother at an early age to Laguardia, Álava and lived there until the age of 11 when they moved to Nottingham.[2] Richards was taken on as an apprentice at County and signed professional for them in November 1974.[3] He made 399 league appearances for County, his sole Football League club.[4]
Richards left County at the age of 29 and continued playing semi-professional football for Boston United, Oakham United, Corby Town[5] and Arnold Town.[6] He died in 2001 from a rare strain of pneumonia.[2]
Personal life
His son Jordan is also a footballer.[7]
gollark: Happily, the PinePhone seems pretty great for repairability and runs Linux, so I hope it will be possible for me to get one.
gollark: My *old* phone had a removable plastic back panel so you could swap the battery. My new one is metal backed and I don't know if you can access the battery or replace the screen at all.
gollark: It annoys me that phones are significantly harder to repair than they have to be.
gollark: Ideally a Nokia-durability one, but to be fair that's probably not practical with smartphones.
gollark: Plastic is superior.
