The railway past the site of Pascoe Vale station was opened in 1872, as part of the North East railway to Wodonga.[2]
The original station building on Platform 1 was provided in 1886, but has since been replaced. A signal box was opened to control interlocked gates at the Gaffney Street level crossing,[3] until boom barriers replaced them in 1965.
