Paraechinus is a genus of hedgehogs. Members are small and nocturnal. The genus contains four species from North Africa, the Middle East and South Asia:[1]

Brandt's hedgehog (Paraechinus hypomelas), [Iran]
Indian hedgehog (Paraechinus micropus)
Bare-bellied hedgehog (Paraechinus nudiventris)
