Palmetto Pass is currently used on two tolled roads: the Southern Connector (Interstate 185) in Greenville County and the Cross Island Parkway (U.S. Highway 278) on Hilton Head Island. Drivers are able to go through tolls at speeds up to 30 mph (48 km/h). The Palmetto Pass currently has no interoperability agreements with other states or agencies that operate electronic toll collection systems.

Tolls

Passes can be acquired through either road's tolling agency offices or websites. Palmetto Pass users receive a 25 cent discount on the Southern Connector over cash users at each toll booth. The cost to travel from end-to-end on the Southern Connector is $3.00 (versus $3.50 for cash users) for two-axle vehicles. Palmetto Pass users also receive a discount on the Cross Island Parkway.
