PC Plus

PC Plus was a computer magazine published monthly from 1986 [1] until September 2012[2] in the UK by Future plc. The magazine was aimed at intermediate to advanced PC users, computer professionals and enthusiasts. The magazine was specifically for users of PCs and related technologies so features articles were undiluted by coverage of other platforms. It began its life specifically as a magazine aimed at the Amstrad PC user [3].

For many years, the editor (later editor-in-chief) was Dave Pearman. PC Plus print magazine was closed in October 2012, when the editor was Martin Cooper.[4][5]

Each edition of the print magazine was centered on four main sections - news, reviews, features, and tutorials.

Under Pearman's editorship, the magazine was characterised by the inclusion of irreverent off-the-wall features and content including Huw Collingbourne's Rants and Raves,[6] a serialisation of a fictional office entitled Group Efforts[7] and the Bastard Operator From Hell. The magazine frequently drew on images of Bath, its office base, during multimedia tutorial articles.[8]

Future plc. no longer publishes PC Plus as a print publication although the on-line domain is still serviced by parent brand TechRadar.com.

gollark: There are linked cards, which are paired card things which can just directly send/receive messages to each other over any distance. If the problem here is that your data has to run across some central network/dispatcher/whatever, then you could use linked cards in the thing gathering data and the thing needing it urgently to send messages between them very fast without using that.
gollark: It would be kind of inelegant and expensive, but maybe for time- and safety-critical stuff like this you could just send the data directly between the computers which need it by linked card.
gollark: You can save cell cost by allocating item types to cells such that you fill up your cells to max "bytes" rather than max "types".
gollark: Or to defragment the system to save space.
gollark: Yes, you could indeed do that.
