Music video

A music video for the song was released on 6 February 2015. It was directed by David Wilson and Christy Karacas and mixes live-action footage with animation.

In the video, a robber wearing a bunny costume steals various confectionaries from a gas station, including a candy bar directly from the gas station's attendant. When the police respond, the robber is revealed to be an alien and, along with other aliens in costumes, massacres a Men in Black team who arrive on the scene. The aliens, however, are subsequently slaughtered in a fight with the attendant, who kills the alien in the bunny costume last and takes back his candy bar.

Critical reception

Scott Kerr of AllMusic called the opener "a riff-fueled onslaught that belies their two-piece status; with just a heavily processed bass guitar and a drum set between them, they make some four-piece rock bands look inconsequential."[1] DIY editor Stephen Ackroyd repeated what Kerr said about "Out of the Black", saying that it "remains an incendiary calling card - a roaring, snarling Godzilla levelling sky scrapers at will."[2]

gollark: > Any beginner mistakes more advanced rust users would like to warn me about up front? If your code has problems, randomly sprinkle in `&` and maybe `&mut`.
gollark: > Seeing as abby isn't on, the beginners mistake is starting using it.That is heresy. Rust good.
gollark: I'm *technically* a contributor too! Although only on relatively meaningless small changes to the ROM!
gollark: > Probably you need Phillips screwdrivers for Phillips screws, all these "standards" are made to take share of market.Aren't Philips heads just a + or something? Screwdrivers for those are very cheap and widely available.
gollark: Why would you convert stuff with *newer* codecs to H.264?
