Oscar M. Fritz

Oscar Marion Fritz (March 3, 1878 October 5, 1957) was an American lawyer and jurist from Wisconsin. He was the 14th Chief Justice of the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

Biography

Born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Fritz attended the Milwaukee Law School and graduated from University of Wisconsin Law School. His father Theodore Fritz was a member of the Wisconsin State Senate. From 1901 to 1912, Fritz practiced law. In 1912, he was appointed a Wisconsin Circuit Court judge and, in 1929, he was appointed to the Wisconsin Supreme Court. In 1950, Fritz became the chief justice of the supreme court and retired in 1954.[1][2]
