Optima, established as an financial entity during 2000, [4] is a subsidiary of Cyprus Popular Bank. [2] Previously known as Investment Bank of Greece, [2][5] the company was registered as a legal entity during January of 2014. [1]
Investment Bank of Greece had some involvement in the failure of parent Marfin Popular Bank (the identifier Marfin being subsequently exchanged to Cyprus at some time) when it and its sister bank the Marfin-Egnatia made loans, during 2007, that subsequently achieved bad, for capital raising in related companies in Greece.[6]
Optima bank is within Μαρούσι (Maroussi), north east of Athens city centre, [7] on Aigialeias 32 and Paradissou street. [1]
