Omari Sterling-James

Omari Shaquil Jabari Sterling-James (born 15 September 1993) is a footballer who plays as a striker for the Saint Kitts and Nevis national team.

He previously played in the Football League for Cheltenham Town and in non-league football for Alvechurch, Redditch United, Oxford City and Gloucester City. Born in England, Sterling-James plays for the Saint Kitts and Nevis national football team.

Career

Sterling-James began his career with Birmingham City, and was released in the 2012 summer. Shortly after he moved to Midland Football Alliance club Alvechurch, and scored 11 goals in his first season.

In September 2013 Sterling-James moved to Redditch United of the Southern League.[2] He appeared regularly with the side, also scoring 13 goals during the whole campaign.[3]

In June 2014 Sterling-James went on a trial at Cheltenham Town. After impressing in the pre-season friendlies he signed a six-month deal with the Robins on 21 July.[4]

On 12 August 2014 Sterling-James made his professional debut, coming on as a late substitute in a 2–0 Football League Cup away loss against Brighton & Hove Albion.[5] On 16 December he signed an extended deal to stay at Cheltenham till the summer 2016.[6]

On 9 December 2015 it was announced that his contract would not be renewed at the end of the season.[7] On 4 February Sterling-James joined National League North side Gloucester City on loan until the end of the season.[8] At the end of the 2015–16 season, he was released by Cheltenham.

In July 2016, Sterling-James signed for National League side Solihull Moors. He scored on his debut in a 3–1 victory over Sutton United,[9] where he was also named man of the match.[10] Sterling-James signed a new undisclosed-length contract with Solihull Moors on 28 December 2016.[11]

In July 2017 Sterling-James joined EFL League Two side Mansfield Town.[12] Solihull Moors re-signed Sterling-James on 22 March 2018 on loan from Mansfield Town until the end of the season.[13] On 25 January 2019, he was then loaned out to Brackley Town for the rest of the season.[14] He was released by Mansfield at the end of the 2019–20 season.[15]

International career

Sterling-James made his international debut for the Saint Kitts and Nevis national football team in a 5-0 friendly loss to Armenia on 4 June 2017.[16][17]
