Norwalk Fire Department

Norwalk Fire Department is a fire department located in the city of Norwalk, Connecticut. It has 141 employees including firefighters, fire inspection, front office, and mechanics. It maintains and operates a fire apparatus fleet of five engines, two trucks, one rescue, one tactical rescue(USAR), one haz-mat unit, one tanker, one fireboat, and numerous special, support, and reserve units.[1] "The City of Norwalk Fire Department operates 5 stations with full-time firefighters and the Rowayton's 6th Taxing District has a Volunteer Fire Station which covers fire calls in Rowayton."[2]

Fire station locations and apparatus

Below is a list of all fire station locations and apparatus in the city of Norwalk. Each engine company is staffed with a lieutenant and three firefighters, while each truck company is staffed by a captain and three firefighters. Fire Station 1, located in Broad River, was dedicated posthumously to Chief John Yost in 1998.[3]
