Noctua is a highly regarded manufacturer in the enthusiast market[1][2][3][4][5][6] and has, according to their official website, received more than 3,000 awards for their products.[7]

The name "Noctua" refers to the scientific name of the little owl, Athene noctua (hence the owl found in the company's logo), which in Greek mythology stands for intelligence and wisdom, as well as known for its soundless flight and the effective, economical use of its powers and precise attack.[8]
