Career
Prior to acting in films, Nivas, the son of former actor Adithan, had been working at Reliance Petrochemicals in Jamnagar, India. He returned to Chennai and it took him eight years to get a break, before being recommended into acting roles by choreographer Kala after impressing during the dance show Maanada Mayilada in 2010. Nivas subsequently made his acting debut in Tamil films through Selva's Naanga (2012), appearing in the lead role alongside fellow debutants Sanjay Bharathi and Muneesh, and portrayed a college student who goes on to become a district collector.[1] The film opened to mixed reviews, though Selva signed on the actor for his next venture Naadi Thudikuthadi too. The film was shot completely in Fiji, but is yet to have a theatrical release.[2]
Nivas has also appeared in small roles in Ram's Thanga Meenkal (2013) and in the critically acclaimed Kaaka Muttai (2015), as the jailed father of the children. He was then seen in a supporting role in the award-winning production, Radiopetti, which won the KNN Audience award at the 2015 Busan International Film Festival.[3][4] Nivas will next be seen in two of Rajjan Madhav's forthcoming films, the multi-starrer Chithiram Pesuthadi 2 and Kattam.[5]
