New Hokkaido Baseball Stadium
ES CON Field Hokkaido (also known as New Hokkaido Baseball Stadium and Hokkaido ballpark) is a proposed baseball ball park at the Hokkaido Ballpark F Village in Kyoei, Kitahiroshima, Hokkaido. The stadium is set to become Nippon-Ham Fighters home, replacing the Sapporo Dome. The stadium will have a retractable roof and capacity for 35,000 people. The stadium will be designed and built by HKS Architects and Obayashi Corporation. In January 2020 ES-Con Japan acquired the naming rights to the stadium, with the surrounding area known as Hokkaido Ballpark F Village.

History
In December 2016 it was announced that a task force was being created with a view of constructing a new ballpark for the Fighters.[1] Six months later a concept for the stadium was revealed and investigations into the feasibility of the project continued.[2] In March 2018 Kitahiroshima General Athletic Park in Kitahiroshima was announced as the location for the new stadium.[3][4] Sapporo had offered the team the Makomanai Park as a location to build a new ballpark in order for them to stay in the city.[5] In October 2018 the project to build a new ballpark was given the go ahead by the Nippon Ham directors.[6] The next month general designs for the ballpark were revealed to the public.[7] While HKS were announced as designers of the stadium and Obayashi as the builders.[8][9][10][11][12] In January 2020 ES-Con Japan acquired the naming rights to the stadium, with the surrounding area known as Hokkaido Ballpark F Village.[13][14] On 13 April a ground breaking ceremony for the stadium took place.[15]
