Life
Nevdürr Hanım is one of the girls serving in Çırağan Palace. She was a Georgian and daughter of Nakakvili Rüstem Bey. She was born in Batumi in 1861. [1]
Its name is written as Nevdürr in the Ottoman archive. In addition, Nevdürr Hanım is trembling in the archives as Kalfa, and the reason for this was that the İtihhat and Terakki Society did not accept them as the spouses of the overturned sultan in order not to pay salaries to the spouses of Sultan Murad. [1][2]
While Şevkefza Kadın was at the service of Valide Sultan, she married Murad in 1880 in Çırağan Palace. She remained childless.[3]
After the death of Sultan Murad, she was sent to Bursa with other Kalfas Gevherriz, Remşinaz and Filizten Kalfa. After staying in Bursa for a few years, she took refuge with her step-daughter Hatice Sultan. Although Hatice Sultan made many requests to Sadara for salary to her stepmother, no salary was paid to Nevdürr Hanim. When Hatice Sultan exiled to abroad in 1924, Nevdürr Hanım was completely obliged. Nevdürr Hanım died in Beşiktaş in Istanbul in 1927. [3]
