Mymensingh Cantonment

Mymensingh Cantonment was the headquarters of the 19th Infantry Division of the Bangladesh Army.[1][2] Presently it has the headquarters of ARTDOC which consists of its Battle Group and all the training institutions. The 77th Infantry Brigade under 19th Infantry Division is located there. The pioneer General Officer Commanding ARTDOC was Major General Md Zia-Ur-Rahman.[3]

Major General Muhammad Zia-Ur-Rahman, ndc, psc was the pioneer General Officer Commanding of Bangladesh Army ARTDOC.

The present GOC, ARTDOC is Lt Gen Md Nazimuddin and the current Area Commander of Ghatail Area (Mymensigh Station) is Major General Shameem U Zaman, Afwc, psc.

This cantonment is also the alleged site of a large-scale killing of West Pakistanis during the Bangladesh Liberation War.[4]
