Mountain View, San Diego

Mountain View is a community in the southeastern section of the city of San Diego. It is bordered by Mount Hope and Greenwood Memorial Park on the north, Interstate 15 and the neighborhoods of Stockton and Logan Heights on the west, Interstate 805 and Lincoln Park on the east, and Southcrest and National City on the south. Major thoroughfares include Imperial Avenue and Ocean View Boulevard.

History

The area comprising Mountain View was acquired by the city of San Diego in 1874, and Mountain View Park was dedicated in 1914.[1]

Landmarks and facilities

Mountain View abuts two of the largest and oldest cemeteries in San Diego County - Mount Hope Cemetery and Greenwood Memorial Park.

Education

Mountain View is served by the San Diego Unified School District. Public schools in Mountain View include Baker Elementary and Promise Charter School.

gollark: Oxygen is needed to run aerobic respiration. Aerobic respiration is needed by lots of body stuff - muscles can run on anaerobic respiration for a bit, but not things like the brain.
gollark: I mean, you can go without oxygen input for a few minutes (I think because of stuff held in the lungs, though - stopping time would break absorption of that), but stuff does actually need it.
gollark: You can't just "not require oxygen".
gollark: The air doesn't move, so you're fixed in place (by air), but also can't breathe any.
