Montreal Urban Community

The Montreal Urban Community (MUC) (Communauté Urbaine de Montréal – CUM) was a regional government in Quebec, Canada, that covered all municipalities located on the Island of Montreal and the islands of L'Île-Dorval and Île Bizard from January 1970 until the end of December 2001. These municipalities were merged into the megacity of Montreal on January 1, 2002. After the partial demergers of 2006, a successor organization was formed, the Urban agglomeration of Montreal.

History

The supra-municipal level of government provided public transit service and police services. The MUC was first succeeded by Montreal Metropolitan Community (MMC). Since the merger and subsequent demerger, the MUC has been replaced by the Montreal Agglomeration Council. This left the MMC in place, so the Agglomeration Council is a supra-municipal entity between the municipal level and the regional municipal level.

gollark: In Intel laptop CPUs, CPU and GPU are on the same die. But this is generally worse than discrete graphics cards for thermal, power and memory bandwidth reasons.
gollark: It works on my phone's Firefox for Android, but *not* on another Firefox on Linux install which isn't signed into my account.
gollark: I assume they would be HTTP or HTTP/2 ones, and while I seem to be able to see the rest of those going to my server, there's just *nothing* for the websocket.
gollark: This is weird. I may be capturing wrong, or... Firefox just isn't actually sending any requests to make the websocket?
gollark: I tried looking at it in Firefox's network pane in the debug thing, the websocket connection just doesn't show. I also tried mitmproxy, which also doesn't show anything. Now I'm trying wireshark, but I don't know how to work that, though it seems to show discord opening websockets okay.
