Career

Escape the Fate (2004–2013)

Monte Money was the lead guitarist of Escape the Fate. He has released four albums with the band and is one of the founding members.

On September 16, 2013, Escape the Fate issued a statement from their Facebook page stating that Monte and his brother had refused to go on the "Wrong Side of Heaven" tour with Five Finger Death Punch, and that they would be replacing them for the tour. Along with this announcement, line up changes were also mentioned. TJ Bell would move from the being the bassist to the rhythm guitarist. Former bassist and founding member Max Green would be returning to the band for the tour. It was later announced in an Alternative Press video featuring lead singer Craig Mabbitt that Max Green would be returning to bass permanently, and Kevin Gruft would become the new lead guitarist.[1]

Monte later issued a statement,[2] "Over the past few weeks, I have become aware of the mis-truths being told by Craig Mabbitt over Twitter, Facebook, and various entertainment sites about my role with Escape the Fate. As ETF fans know, I spent many years of my life completely devoted to the band, and never worked harder at anything to achieve its success."[3] He mentions the band's advisors have been saying that Escape the Fate is bankrupt.[4]

Beyond Unbroken (2013–present)

After leaving Escape the Fate, Monte and his brother Michael have started a new solo project called Money Brothers. They only released 2 singles.[5]

Their first single titled "Break Free" was released in October 2013.[6] and Their second single titled "Clarity (Behind the Curtain)" was released in February 2014.[7]

Monte had revealed a name change from the solo project Money Brothers[8] to a new band called Beyond Unbroken.

On October 30, 2015, their new single titled "Under Your Skin" was released.[9]

On February 22, 2016, the single "Dont Wake the Dead" was released.[10] In “Don't Wake the Dead,” the lyrics “fuck your fate” could be read as an insult to Escape the Fate. However, Monte says that's not the case. “The song lyric has nothing to do toward the Escape the Fate band. That lyric in that particular song means fate is irrelevant to those who strongly believe in 'destiny,'” he says. Music Junkie noted its "powerful vocals".[11]

On March 30th 2016, The band released their first music video for the single "Losing My Mind" debuting on Alternative Press.[12] The video's concept directs around the meaning of the song, says lead vocalist Monte Money. “The black and white frames in the beginning depict the normal everyday routine that we all go through,” he says. “As the song progresses, you see us covered in blood, which means we were hitting our breaking point and losing our minds.”

Monte and his brother Michael left Escape the Fate toward the end of 2013.

“After a great decade in the band and working with the guys, I just felt like I wanted to start a new journey and explore a new musical path. I will always love what we've created and all of the crazy fun times the guys and I had,”

Monte shares. “There was never ill will toward the guys, but it did kind of feel like I was breaking up with my girlfriend. And everyone knows a break up is never an easy thing.”

The band's debut show will be on June 22 at The Whisky A Go Go in Hollywood, California. “If the fans come and watch us in June, they just might catch us [playing] a #WayBackWednesday old Escape the Fate song,” says Monte. “We are also planning on releasing our album later this year.”

On August 29th 2017, after over a year after the release of "Losing My Mind" the band released a new single entitled "Overdose" accompanied by an animated video. Once again debuting on Alternative Press as an exclusive.[13] “The song is about my journey through music: Growing up as a kid, wanting to be a musician, but people always tearing that dream down. [Wanting me] to just conform to society stuck at a job that you hate because your dreams can never be a reality,” Monte Money explains.

“In the song, I'm basically telling everyone I'm gonna do what I want, if you believe in me or not. Also, there’s a part in the song where I explain my journey from Escape the Fate to where I am now. How I'm always chasing my dreams and will never give up.

”Not to mention, this video is as much of a passion project for the band, too. They originally wanted to produce a live action video, but instead, the animated video helped truly make the song come to life.

On September 1, 2017. the band's six track EP "Don't Wake the Dead" was released. The EP includes the four previous released singles as well as two brand new songs. All songs were produced by Matt Good of From First to Last.[14]

On February 7, 2020 the band released 2 singles titled "Enemy" and "In My Head" from the album "Running Out of Time" which will be released on April 3, 2020.[15]

Mirrored (2018)

On May 23 it was announced that Monte has started a new project under the name "Mirrored" Where Monte will be back on Lead guitar for the first time since his departure from Escape the Fate and will be teaming up with Vocalist Paul Bartolome (ex Bad Fortune). Monte has previously worked with the singer on the album "Gravity" set to come out August 21, where Monte appears as a guest spot on the track "Offline". It was also announced a music video for the first song will be released soon but no specific date has been given yet.[16]
