Mixed team at the 1896 Summer Olympics

Early Olympic Games allowed for individuals in a team to be from different nations. The International Olympic Committee (IOC) now groups their results together under the mixed team designation (IOC code ZZX). At the 1896 Summer Olympics, two of three of the medalling pairs in the doubles event in tennis were of mixed nationality.

Notes

  1. Kasdaglis is listed as Greek in the IOC medals database for men's singles tennis in 1896. The team of Kasdaglis and Petrokokkinos appears in that database as a mixed team. Petrokokkinos, not having won a singles medal, is not identified with any nation in the IOC database; however, all sources which do give a nationality for Petrokokkinos give it as Greek. Kasdaglis, a Greek national residing in Alexandria, is listed as Egyptian in some sources.
gollark: You forgot to handle <img> also.
gollark: How does it handle errors generally?
gollark: I mean, most of the validator warnings *are* just "not allowed in this context" and it's harder to process that standards-compliantly than to ignore it, but still.
gollark: My site is designed to work okay with no/old JS and >=IE11 CSS, but many things aren't, and I only test for firefox.
gollark: Oh, and half the stuff on the web uses JS... good luck with that.
