Miriam Byrne

Miriam Alexandra Frances Byrne is a priest of the Scottish Episcopal Church (SEC).

A former Roman Catholic nun, she was ordained in 1994 and was Priest in charge of St Augustine, Dumbarton[1] before becoming the Provost of St Paul’s Cathedral, Dundee in the Diocese of Brechin; and thus the most senior female cleric in the SEC. She was suspended in 2000 over disputed liturgical decisions and administrative style but reinstated by the college of bishops and cleared of all charges.[2] She successfully continued her ministry and established a thriving congregation. She also reinvigorated the cathedral finances with diverse business practices including the establishment of a successful day nursery.

In April 2006, she announced her resignation as provost and moved to France.[3]

gollark: I'm osmarks, the web UI is mine, and the new URL is skynet.osmarks.net. I don't think it allows tables as channels now. SPUDNET is more complex and somewhat poorly documented.
gollark: There are other projects in this space like soqet with authentication, but the design called for making it as trustless and simple as possible so skynet requires you to do encryption and stuff yourself (SPUDNET, another project of mine, does *not* do this and does have a fairly complex authorization system, but is used in different areas).
gollark: Someone here made something which meddles with the peripheral API to make it emulate actual modem peripherals, but by default the API is quite different.
gollark: (I found out later that this had in fact been done rather a lot of times before, but mine is unique in having a CC client at least)
gollark: It's entirely centralized because distributed systems are quite hard to do, and basically just works as a websocket pub/sub server.
