Mireille Wenger

Mireille Mary Wenger is a South African politician who has served as a Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament since May 2014. A member of the Democratic Alliance, she was named Chief Whip of the Majority Party in May 2019.

Qualifications

Wenger has an MA in International Studies and an MPhil in Criminology, Law and Society. She obtained a diploma in Political Science and Sociology from Sciences Po in France.[1]

Political career

In the 2014 general election, she was elected a Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament for the Democratic Alliance. She took office as an MPP on 21 May 2014. Wenger was named chairperson of the community safety committee.[1]

After her re-election in the 2019 general election, she was named the legislature's Chief Whip of the Majority Party. She assumed the office on 22 May 2019.[1]
