Minnesota Senate, District 36

Minnesota Senate District 36 (SD 36) is a Basic Political Organizational Unit (BPOU).

During the 2000 - 2010 census period, Senate District 36 represents Dakota County and portions of Goodhue County, and is one of eleven Senate Districts within Minnesota Congressional District 2. Following the 2010 census, redistricting will take place, and SD36's boundaries will change to reflect population changes.

SD 36 elects one Senator to serve at the state Capitol, St. Paul. The Senate District is also divided into two 'sides,' 'A' and 'B,' each of which sends one Representative to the Capitol.
