Mimi Slinger

Mimi Slinger (born 6 February 2003) is an English actress, known for portraying the role of Leanna Cavanagh on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale.[2]

Early life

Slinger was born on 6 February 2003,[3] and grew up in Singapore.[4] She attended the Tanglin Trust School, where she began performing.[5] Slinger later began studying at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London.[6]

Career

Slinger made her stage debut in 2014, where she appeared in a production of The Sound of Music, where she portrayed the role of Brigetta.[7] In 2017, Slinger made her professional acting debut in Heidi: Queen of the Mountain. In the film, she portrayed the role of Clara.[8] In 2018, Slinger began appearing in the ITV soap opera Emmerdale, portraying the role of Leanna Cavanagh.[9] In an interview with Digital Spy, Slinger stated: "Leanna is a troublemaker and loves the attention that comes with it. She's that stereotypical mean girl who creates drama to keep her position. Unlike Leanna I was not a troublemaker but definitely could be a bit cheeky on occasion!"[10] She also commented: "Leanna and people like her would definitely be the sort that I'd steer away from. She's someone I'd find it difficult to be friends with on some levels. She's got a hard exterior because of everything she's been through. That hard facade causes her to almost bully and disregard other people's feelings too often. I personally couldn't support this because I've experienced unkindness from bullies and I've seen its effects on others."[10]
