In 1979, he graduated with a M.A. in English literature from the University of Tennessee. In 1982, he graduated with distinction with a J.D. degree from Duke University School of Law, where he served on the Duke Law Journal, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif. Accomplishments and employment

gollark: Trees don't leave very much room for redundancy, that's the thing.
gollark: IIRC it just uses a tree topology.
gollark: Doesn't that suffer horribly from netsplits?
gollark: I was looking at making it support networking together multiple skynet servers, for redundancy, but that never panned out because distributed systems design is very hard.
gollark: That was a feature meant to allow everyone basically the same access to information as skynet admins, but eh.
