It opened to cater to the city's then-rapidly growing northwest quadrant, and to alleviate the congestion at Archbishop M.C. O'Neill High School. It was named in honor of Mr. Michael A. Riffel, former trustee of the Regina Catholic School Division. Having originally opened with 145 students, it has now grown to fulfill the needs of over 800 students.

The school's athletics are known as the Royals and has four feeder elementary schools: St. Bernadette School, St. Jerome School, St. Josaphat School, and St. Nicholas School.[1]

gollark: How about this:your chances are halved per prize you already own.
gollark: I like the cave's randomness because it's the same for everyone. Two people viewing the cave at the same time see the same thing.
gollark: I'm not against random chance in itself. I'm against randomness distributing one of the game's most valuable thingies.
