Mentor Civic Arena

Mentor Civic Arena is a 1,600-seat[1] ice arena located in Mentor, Ohio. It is home to a number of high-school hockey teams as well as the Mentor Ice Breakers of the Federal Prospects Hockey League. In addition to the main west rink, Mentor Civic Arena also has a second regulation-size rink and a smaller studio rink. The arena is part of the larger Civic Center Park, which includes a water park, a skate park, and an amphitheater that hosts concerts and other special events.

History

Mentor Civic Arena was opened in 1982 and originally only had one rink. In 1997, a second rink was added to the facility, and the arena began hosting more major events as a result.[2]

On July 23, 2018, the Federal Hockey League announced that they would expand to Mentor with the Mentor Ice Breakers to play out of the Mentor Civic Arena.[3] This marked the first time that the arena would be home to professional hockey.
