Meneses Monroy

Meneses Monroy (full name Marco Antonio Meneses Monroy, born 1984) is a Mexican writer, lawyer and philosopher. He is mainly known for his poetry. He is the founder and director of the magazine El Comité 1973 and member of the literary group "El Comité".[1][2][3][4]

Biography

Meneses Monroy was born in Pachuca, Hidalgo, where he currently lives. His work is usually written in Spanish. He has also written some texts in English.

He has a master's degree in Population Studies from the Universidad Autónoma del Estado de Hidalgo (2012)[5] previously he had studied Laws in that institution (2009).[6] He also studied an academic program about Intercultural competences in the Westfälische Wilhelms-Universität Münster, (Germany) (2010–2011).[7]

In 2011 Meneses Monroy participated in an international congress about poetry.[8] He presented a study about Alfonso Reyes. In 2012 he founded the literary magazine El Comité 1973.[9] In 2014 Meneses published a study about the indigenous population in Mexico.[10][11] In 2017 he participated in the celebration of the fifth anniversary of El Comité 1973,[12] the event took place in the Centro Cultural del México Contemporáneo, in Mexico City. In 2018 he took part in a reading session in Pachuca's city library.[13]

Radio

Meneses has been invited to various radio stations in order to talk about his work as a writer. In 2018 his poem Acerca de la vida y la muerte was read in the podcast "Rotterdam Chips."[14]
