Mela (1980 film)
Mela (transl. Fair) is a 1980 Malayalam-language Indian film directed by K. G. George, starring Raghu,[1] Anjali Naidu, and Mammootty.[2] This is one of the earliest films of Mammootty, he played a notable supporting role. This film is noted for starring the shortest actor (Raghu) as the protagonist and in a full-length character.[3][4]. Mela Reghu is from Cherthala in Alappuzha district of Kerala.His original name is Sasi. He is so much talented in arts during school days.After passing tenth he joined SD college in Alappuzha for higher studies but quit college to join Bharat Circus Company . He worked with circus for about 2 years at that time he got chance to act in "Mela" movie as the main hero . He is also the first shortest film hero in Asian Cinema history. After a huge success of Mela Raghu's role get higher and outstanding responses. He again acted in a Tamil film named Apoorva Sahodaragal staring Tamil Superstar Kamal Hasan in the lead role . Reghu got a good role in this film. But after that he vanished from film field forever due to bad luck. No body gives role to him in films. After that he again re joined circus as a joker .After someyears he quit circus and get married and have a daughter.He re entered to the acting career through dramas including KPAC dramas. Later he healined in many tv news channels special feature shows . Mela Reghu acted as hero in his biographical type short film Marjani" in 2018. He is now a AMMA association pensioner. He is also actives in Cultural and social activities in his town.

Plot
The protagonist, working as a clown in a circus in the town, comes to visit his village. He is looking for a bride. The heroine, a tall lady, gets charmed by the wealthiness (compared to the other citizens of the village) of the protagonist even though he is a dwarf. She assents to marriage. Married, they go to the town to join the circus camp.
Things come to a different world when they reach the circus. Here the clown is a very insignificant figure. His wife sees the difference very quick. She soon gets attracted to a heroic figure in the circus camp – a bike jumper. They show the signs of moving into an affair. Some drama follows and the protagonist, the clown, hands over his wife to the bike jumper and commits suicide. Film Location was at Muthiyanga, a village in Kannur District Kuthuparamba Pattiyam.
