McAllen Independent School District

The McAllen Independent School District is a school district headquartered in the city of McAllen, Texas, United States.

In 2009, the school district was rated "academically acceptable" by the Texas Education Agency.[1]

The physical campuses of the MISD include 3 High Schools, 6 Middle Schools, and 21 Elementary Schools.

In addition, the school district operates Lamar Academy which includes two high-school-level programs: Options High School and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
