Mayor of the Sheffield City Region
The Mayor of the Sheffield City Region is a combined authority mayor, first elected in May 2018, who chairs the Sheffield City Region Combined Authority.[2] The role is currently held by Dan Jarvis who has also served as the MP for Barnsley Central since a by-election in 2011.

The office was created under the Cities and Local Government Devolution Act 2016 which allowed for the creation of 'Metro mayors' to lead combined authorities in England.[3]
